Champ's Story...
Champ or as he is known at the shelter Champ the happy basset hound, had a rough life before making it to the shelter. He was a stray that found his way into a local community where he was fed but he had staples in his ears and a drain tube in his neck from a recent surgery. An effort was made to contact all veterinary offices in western North Carolina but nobody knew anything about this happy fellow.

Now Champ is at PAWS and is looking for his forever home. He was estimated to be 5 years old when he entered the shelter on 7/1/16. He is very laid back and loves attention.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Champ, a Bryson City Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Bryson City, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Bryson City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bryson City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bryson City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bryson City paves the way for another one to be saved.
