Gia is a lovely (but lazy) dog who is looking for a home where she can get all of her beauty sleep! Even by dog standards, she's a great snoozer. She's a middle-aged girl who seems to be friendly with everyone once she has a chance to be properly introduced. She would be great for a home who would like more of a lounging buddy than an exercise partner.
That's not to say that Gia doesn't enjoy burning a few calories. She does enjoy going for a daily walk, and she's quite good on a leash. She does occasionally get in some play time, but doesn't need a big yard. Even though she's a bigger dog, her low activity level would probably fit right into an apartment or a smaller house. Her only requirement is that she be the only dog in the home.
Mostly what she likes is being around her favorite humans, and getting in some affection. She loves to be pet, but is not pushy about it. She's been a great house guest with our volunteers, and we think she'd be great in your home too! Even though she's a low maintenance dog who we think will make a quick transition to her new home, don't forget that APA's behavioral team will be available to help with any questions after she joins your family. Plus, remember that when you adopt Gia you'll also let us free up space so that another dog can join us at APA!
