Penny's Story...
Penney is on the smaller side but has a huge personality. She loves to play and has a great time playing with her litter mate and the other dogs in her foster home as well as her foster mom. She is a little on the shy side when first meeting her but will warm up and cuddle quickly once she feels comfortable. While she does get along with the other dogs in her foster home she is not comfortable meeting new dogs and would do best in a home without other dogs. . If you would like to meet Penney, please visit our website to review the adoption process and complete an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny, a Elgin Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Elgin, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Elgin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elgin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elgin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elgin paves the way for another one to be saved.
