Hi, my name is Joy, but my 4 year old human foster sister calls me "little girl". Sure, I am little, but I have a pretty giant heart. My foster parents describe me to everyone as The Perfect Dog. I think they really like that I don't usually bark for anything, not even the vacuum cleaner, and I never get in trouble. I am currently living with 3 other small dogs and get along wonderfully with them.

I sleep in the crate most days. When my foster mom lets us out in the morning, the other dogs go straight outside to use the restroom. Not me. I hold it a little longer and jump onto the bed to snuggle with my foster dad! Did I mention I am potty trained? I am. I learned how to use the doggie door on my own and just go whenever I need to. If my foster parents go somewhere, they always catch me on their security camera sun bathing on the deck!

My favorite treat is chew bones! I also enjoy walks and belly rubs. I have a cute little face that is just irresistible. My human foster sister loves to hug me and I also get to sit on her bed to listen to bedtime stories every night. I am pretty laid back and low energy, friendly and sweet. I would make a perfect companion for just about anyone.

About Paws In The City

About Our Rescue Group...

Paws In The City® is committed to supporting the City of Dallas Animal Shelter by hosting off-site adoptions for the dogs and spay/neuter education and fundraising through specific outreach programs.

Paws In The City is a nonprofit, 501 (c) 3 organization committed to ending overpopulation, abuse and neglect of Dallas dogs and cats . We are an all volunteer organization with no paid staff.

Paws In The City is committed to the following goals:

 Rescuing homeless dogs and cats from the City of Dallas animal shelters by sponsoring off-site adoptions to find these abandoned animals terrific, loving homes…often many of these wonderful pets are days away from being euthanized simply because there are not enough homes... a tragedy we are determined to end;

 Providing a comforting and positive environment for adoptions;

 Providing medical care to neglected, abused, and injured animals through our outreach efforts;

 Educating the public on responsible pet ownership; and

 Supporting spay and neuter programs…the simple, common sense solution to ending the number of unwanted dogs and cats on our streets and in our city shelters.

Why we do it
