Sammy's Story...
Sammy is a 5 year old brindle piebald female with natural ears. Update 9/25/16 - Sammy is doing great in her foster home. She is starting to show her sense of humor, and is sweet and loving to humans. She's doing well with her training. Sammy loves to play with her fully toys and chew bones, and prances proudly with them. She enjoys the back yard, chasing squirrels with her foster brother. She loves to cuddle with her people, and enjoys visitors and being the center of attention. She LOVES her walks. She plays a bit with her foster brother, but is still shy about it and he respects her need for calm and space. Sammy will do well in a family, without another dog, or with one who will respect her need for space.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sammy, a York Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in York, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in York paves the way for another one to be saved.
