Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sanibel sat quietly in the back of her kennel at the shelter. When the officer brought her out to meet me, she gently walked on the leash to the outside area. She had been cooped up in the kennel for over a week, but she did not act crazy or wild when she was out in the courtyard. She immediately did her "business", and began to follow me around. She appears housetrained and very laid back. She NEVER jumped or barked. She sat by my feet and crossed her front paws like a lady crosses her legs. She has such sweet and elegant mannerisms. When we got to my car, she walked in and settled neatly on the blanket laid out for her on the floorboard. She did not move from that spot as we traveled across town for her vet appt. She would occasionally look up at me with her soft, brown eyes...as if to say...THANK YOU...for rescuing me. Sanibel is a petite female lab, with a jet black coat. She is the perfect lap-lab. She appears to know a few commands and her expressive eyes follow you all the time. Sanibel will make a wonderful companion for anyone who loves dogs. Her calm, loving demeanor would make her an excellent candidate as a therapy dog as well.
