Important Note

Paige is best friends with Patience. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Paige is a sweet and beautifully elegant Bombay/ black DSH mix girl who has a shiny black-patent-leather coat and mesmerizing copper-penny eyes. She was born in March 2016 and likes to snuggle. This is not surprising as Bombay mixes are often called Velcro cats because they bond with their humans so well.
She's not a kitten who has bundles of energy, so if you have a quieter or more laid-back home, then she would be a great choice for you. Yet she is a kitten who will choose to exert her energy when it will give her the most reward. She will stalk her prey (other cats), hide in wait until they are up close, and then pounce when they least expect her ambush.
Paige is a quiet, reserved kitten who is the one of her litter who often hangs back and checks out a situation instead of pouncing full force and demanding to be the center of attention. You might say that she behaves like Audrey Hepburn instead of Rosie O'Donnell! She loves her food and lounging, so she's not high maintenance.
But Paige is no couch potato! She also has a playful side, and at times you can find her chasing her own tail for entertainment. She enjoys play time with other cats and with cat toys. She gets along with other cats as well as children and dogs; so she would fit into many family environments.
Please don't be superstitious of black cats! Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have previously had a black or Bombay mix cat end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. To find out more about Bombay mixes, watch the attached 2-3 minute You Tube video that appeared on Animal Planet or Google "Cats 101 Bombay."
Paige and her siblings Patience and Finlay were living under a building in the museum district and at 6 weeks of age were trapped by a wildlife professional. She is so grateful that the man reached out to Buster's Friends to rescue her from the local kill-shelter. Despite her hardscrabble beginnings, Paige has adjusted well to a "cushy" indoor life with brimming food bowls in her safe haven. As much as she loves her foster home, she really wants a family of her very own. Won't you give this elegant black diamond (and her twin sister Patience, for that matter!) your lap to snuggle up in?
Paige is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. Her adoption fee is $125 for kittens 9 months old and younger, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. About Buster's Friends

About Our Rescue Group...

Buster’s Friends was created in memory of Jennifer Fields. Jennifer spent countless hours rescuing and fostering hundreds of Houston’s homeless animals prior to losing her battle to cancer in May 2009. As a tribute to Jennifer and her dedication, we named the group after her beloved dog Buster, who made the journey to the Rainbow Bridge in August 2008.
