Squirt's Story...
location: Orlando, FL

Squirt was an owner surrender. He is 10 years old and only weighs about 8 pounds. He loves to go on walks, and gets very excited when his leash and harness come out of the drawer. Squirt is also house broken, provided he is taken out 4 or 5 times during the day. He loves lots of attention, and he especially loves his stuffed toys - and a good belly scratch! Squirt has been living with four cats in his foster home, and prefers to stay well out of their way. He is also living with a 10 month old puppy, and may be happier as an only dog - or with a quieter, more mature dog. Squirt should be with kids who are old enough to treat him quietly and gently, since he's not as active as he once was. This little guy is just a joy, and his foster family loves having him in their home. Squirt prefers a lap to curl up on for his afternoon naps, and has been sleeping in bed at night. His foster family feels that Squirt would make a wonderful addition to any family looking for a faithful companion who isn't full of "puppy energy".

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Squirt, a Jacksonville Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
