P.J.'s Story...
Meet P.J.
P.J., also known as Plain Jack, may seem like just a plain little tabby, but he is actually a special boy. He has the endearing habit of carrying his tail flat on his back, sort of like a squirrel. Also he is an especially cuddly purr machine. P.J.’s calm personality is remarkable when you realize he started out his life as a scared tiny baby born to a wild mom probably in the end of April, 2016. Despite that tough start, P.J. has always been healthy, sweet, & gentle. He is growing into a handsome fellow to match his personality. He has been vaccinated, dewormed, & tested for FeLV/FIV. He will be neutered & microchipped by mid-August. If you want a sweet, calm kitten, P.J. is your man. To meet him, call 540/586-6100 or go to bhsva.org to complete an Adoption Application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

P.J., a Bedford Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
