MEET AKI!! This sweet girl is about the best behaved pup you will ever meet! She loves people, is friendly and outgoing, and has an awesome disposition.

Aki is mild-mannered, easy going, with a contagious zest for life. She aims to please, and loves to play. She will do wonderfully in an active home where her humans enjoy walking, hiking, etc. Aki is very food-motivated, and would love to learn some new tricks and perhaps an agility course! Aki’s favorite things in the world include thunder storms, sun bathing, and watching Law and Order SVU.

Aki needs to be be an "only dog" and she does not do well with cats. She is GREAT with kids... but due to her size and exuberance, she is a good fit for a family with older children. Aki is a great protector of the home, and is very wary of strangers coming into her home.  She will need a home that does not have a lot of visitors, OR an adopter that does not mind placing her in another room or her kennel when strangers come to the home.

NOTE:  Since Aki does have some overprotective qualities, she will need an adopter that is comfortable with crating her/kenneling, or putting her into a separate room when visitors are over. She needs a low traffic home, where there are not a lot of strangers coming and going.  She will not do well with new people in her home on a regular basis and needs an adopter that is o.k. with her being separated from newcomers when they come to visit.

Her foster mom will gladly watch her *for free* anytime you go on vacation!

About Underdog Rescue of Arizona

About Our Rescue Group...

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.

We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.

Underdog's mission also includes educating the public on the issue of animal welfare. We strive to promote shelter reform, spay and neuter education and emergency rescue information & assistance.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website: www.underdogaz.com.

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.
