Laika's Info...

Laika's Story...
“Houston, we have a problem… Laika hasn’t been adopted yet.”

Did you know that the first dog in outer space was named Laika too? Well, I am content to stay here on earth; in fact, the only world I want to orbit is yours! I am a one year old, spayed female German Shepherd mix with a lot of youthful energy and spunk. I do well with other big dogs and older kids, but I’m not a fan of little dogs. I am a playful girl too, and will blast-off after the ball when you throw it. So if you are looking for a new best friend, I’d love to make a perfect landing not just at your house, but in your heart as well!

If you want to apply for Laika, please visit the rescue and fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Laika, a Meridian German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Meridian, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
