Seniors have a soft spot in the WAAL family heart. We believe every animal deserves to spend their last years on a warm, comfy couch, sleeping in the sun, not in a cold, metal cage. We were so heartbroken to see this sweet senior, in her condition, dropped at WAS with no owner to come and save her. We took her into care and worked on getting her healthy again. She had hyperthyroidism, making her extremely skinny and had an upper respiratory infection. Thanks to the love and care of her amazing foster Dorothy, her thyroid was removed, her URI cleared up and she started putting on weight! Her blood work is pretty flawless for a girl of her age (14-16 years old) and she still has a lot of good years left. She's laid back, sweet, and deserving of a home. She would be a great starter cat for someone who has never owned a cat and wanted to get their "paws" wet with an easy feline. All she requires is a bowl of food, endless scratches and a sunny window to sleep in. We think seniors deserve a home as much as a kitten does. Don't you? If so, apply at WAALrescue.org/adoptions and give Grandma the best years she's ever had. She gets along with other cats that give her space and don't want to rough house or wrestle, she's litter box trained, spayed, vaccinated, FeLV negative, microchipped and dewormed. No young kids for her but she would probably do ok with dogs that give her some personal space and don't bother her too bad. Seniors deserve a forever home too. Help give Grandma the perfect ending to her story.
