Lucy's Story...
Hi there, my name is Lucy and I came here all the way from Lebanon! My foster mom thinks I’m a shepherd/husky mix. I’m only 36 lbs right now, but I will grow into a big girl! I am house trained and I’m getting used to being crated. I’m very exuberant and would do best with older children. I enjoy walks and playing, but my favorite is snuggling with my foster family. Along with commands like sit, off, and leave-it, I’m learning that cats aren’t for chasing. I still probably shouldn’t live with any though. I do ok with dogs smaller than me, but I would really thrive as an only dog. I need a family that will be patient with me as I continue learning my commands, and that is willing to help me become a more confident dog. I do require a fenced in yard so I can have plenty of space to run, but I really don’t want to be outside without my people. I do have a bit of anxiety when I’m left and would really appreciate routine in my life as too much chaos can make me nervous. I am up to date on all my shots and have been spayed. Are you the person that can give me consistency and guidance? My adoption fee is $200. Please apply at Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Grand Rapids Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
