Atkins in Austin's Story...
Atkins is a cute 2 year old neutered Jack Russell Terrier male. He was lucky to be picked up as a stray by a very kind couple. He got away from them twice but they were able to catch him both times. This little guy will need a JRT experienced owner. Atkins has a great disposition and is almost house trained. We can tell that this sweet boy has been knocked around for having an accident so his new family will need to be patient. Like most JRTs he does not like cats so...no cats , hamsters, birds, etc. No other male dogs. All of his vaccinations are current and he is heart worm negative. Atkins just loves everyone and wants to be a lap dog! If you are interested in this little guy, fill out the application on www.russellrescue.com. Home visit and vet check are mandatory and his adoption fee is $200. Contact jolleyjames@sbcglobal.net. Please visit us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/TexasRussellRescueInc

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Atkins in Austin, a San Antonio Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
