Hey folks, it's Marcus here and I am the best dog ever. Somehow, I wound up at BCP&R after I was not reclaimed by my owners but thankfully I was rescued by one of our ACO's. It's a cool & safe place and I have a lot of friends here both human and canine, but I'd rather be in your home. I'm an 18 month old male pit/shepard mix. I am a pretty happy and energetic boy who doesn't even mind kids (I know some of us think kids are nuts, but they honestly aren't that bad!) In fact, I love to give hugs to everyone. I am fully vetted and all set to go into your home and into your heart.

About Bergen County Protect and Rescue

About Our Shelter...

Bergen County Protect & Rescue is a True No-Kill Animal Welfare Facility located in Cliffside Park. It was founded in 2012 by Eastern Bergen County's very own Animal Control Agency, Bergen County Humane Enforcement. The idea of creating a no-kill facility came to be when animal control officers were forced to take lost and abandoned animals to surrounding veterinarians and animals shelters with no knowledge of where their final destination would be. In most cases, the animals were treated and adopted out to loving homes while others were euthanized.

Inspired to help make a difference in the animal world today, BCP&R was created. Today, we are a 501c(3) non-profit, volunteer operated, no-kill animal shelter. We are grateful to all the rescue groups, veterinarians, shelters, volunteers and donors that helped make BCP&R what it has become today. Their guidance and support has empowered us greatly.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Animals are available for adoption 7 days (12:00pm - 5:00pm) a week from our facility. Late night Wednesdays - open till 7pm.

Special events are posted on our website and Facebook pages.

Our Adoption Process...

We have an adoption application that must be completed before adopting. We verify the information on the application and once you are approved, you may adopt from our facility. A Driver's license or state id is required. If renting, a copy of your lease or letter from your landlord may be required before approval.
