Duke came to ARFF MO as a pit bull and he was rescued to keep him from going to a shelter where pit bulls are killed upon intake. Duke may have some pit bull in his lineage, but he looks more Jack Russell terrier in the face than pit bull. Duke got his name as he kept putting on the "hazard lights" in the transporter's car when he was on his freedom ride from the dog pound. Duke is an escape artist and he can jump high and then climb out of a chain link fence. He has some separation anxiety and would do best with another dog in the home. Duke is crate trained and most likely house trained. He would make a great agility dog or dock diving dog with the proper training. Duke has a sweet temperament and he would love to have a person to spend more time with. He walks well on a leash with a head halter on. He loves to go for walks! If you are considering fostering or adopting Duke, please fill out an adoption application from our website www.arffmo.org.
