My name is Betty. I love it when children know how to stroke me--gently and in the proper direction, from head to tail (This is especially important for cats like me, cats with beautiful long hair.) Because I'm black and in a lower cage, lots of people don't even notice me, but I always come to the front when someone opens my door. And if I know you, I'll get on your lap. I get along with all kinds of people, but I'm not eager to get out among other cats. I would rather not be picked up (but I think I could learn differently from people I knew). I need a fairly quiet home, preferably without other cats; and I would like it to include some children, so long as they understand the right way to stroke cats, from head to tail.

Our Adoption Process...

We ask potential adopters to fill out a matchmaker form. When they are ready to adopt an animal and the form and interview process indicates a good match, we have the adopter sign an adoption contract promising that the animal will receive good physical and emotional care. Fees vary and we often have adoption specials. Fees for senior pets are sponsored. Otherwise, dogs are $100, puppies $150 and up, cats are $75, kittens are $95.
