RAVEN- pending's Story...
Raven arrived on July 23rd weighing in at 16 pounds. This three month old girl is completely AMAZING!!! She rested comfortably on the short trip to her foster home that she shares with two medium sized female dogs. She waited to be let out to relieve herself and so far seems to understand to do her business outside. Raven was happy to explore the yard and meet the dogs. Of course she caught the attention of the neighbors who came to greet her. Raven was absolutely wonderful with the kids, adults, and dogs. She was happy to meet everyone and loved being held and petted. Raven loved belly rubs and was not at all mouthy which is great for such a young pup. She displays a great balance of energy and loving, liking both to play and curl up on your lap. After a long day she quickly settled into her crate for the night. Raven seems black in color but when the sun hits her, you see a beautiful brown hue to the fur. Adorable!

UPDATE: Raven slept quietly through the night in her crate and waited to be let outside to do her business. We went on a long walk this morning. She was great on the leash and happily greeted some new people and dogs. She has a great temperament and typical puppy energy. Raven loves to run around in the yard and play with toys inside.

UPDATE: Raven continues to impress everyone she meets! As we walk, her good looks attract the attention of everyone. Her personality is even better! While she has that great puppy energy, she melts for affection. Raven loves to greet people but not jumpy and just loves belly rubs. Inside the house she is well behaved, and content on her own. She has not had any accidents in the house, as she is taken out at regular intervals.

This animal is currently fostered in a private home. Our rescue is 100% foster home based. We do not have a shelter or kennel. They are cared for by a loving family until adopted. Each pup has had their first vet exam, a shot, and de-worming, etc We make sure they have no fleas prior to going into our foster homes. They are fostered out of the shelter at least two weeks or more prior to adopting to monitor health. We take their care seriously! Please note that the adoption appointments will be scheduled after your application is approved. Once adopted, feel free to change the dog's name. You do not have to keep the name listed in this post.

All dogs over 6 months are spayed/Neutered, rabie shot, heartworm tested, parvo distemper shot, and dewormed. IF YOU ADOPT a pup and live in the State of New Jersey we do have low cost spaying and neutering at very affordable prices. Kindly inquire upon an approved application. We also have an affordable program for out of state adopters.

We also offer low cost micro-chipping! For a low fee of only 20.00 we will have your dog microchipped. You will be able to register the microchip for a low cost fee of only 10.99 at the time of the adoption appointment. The 10.99 fee is a ONE time registration fee. The microchip is for the lifetime of the dog. You have the ability to update the contact information at NO cost. You will also have a one year membership to Home Again. This is a big savings for you.

Sheryl's Den has teamed up with Petfirst Health care in an effort to offer pet insurance for your adopted family member. If you wish, you can enroll once you adopt. Your coverage will begin following your activation. The first 30 days are free! There is no cost to the adopter for this 30-day protection (This program is available in all US states and Washington DC, but not NY at this time) The 30-day coverage plan ensures the pets adopted are covered for accidents and illnesses. This plan provides $1,000 aggregate/ $500 per-incident limit of accident and illness protection. It reimburses 100% of vet bills after a $50 per-incident deductible. To activate the insurance, pet parents must call 1-855-710-7387. The insurance is not active until the adopter activates it, and is not retroactive to the date of the adoption. Once their insurance is active, they use the veterinarian of their choice and submit their bills for reimbursement, which PetFirst processes in as little as two weeks. Adopters have the option to extend or upgrade their coverage at the time of activation.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

RAVEN- pending, a West Milford Labrador Retriever/Boxer puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Boxer for sale in West Milford, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Boxer puppy from a breeder in West Milford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Milford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Milford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Boxer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Milford paves the way for another one to be saved.
