People moved and left Penny behind abandoned, in an empty apartment. No food. No water. A criminal act. Penny was brought to the Humane Society of New York for medical attention by a neighbor who found her in this deplorable condition and ultimately wanted to keep her. At first the neighbor and his family were at home with a new born baby and everything was fine, but now that they are working 10 - 12 hour days, Penny does not get the attention and the walks that she needs and they have decided it would be in her best interest to her to have a family with more time for her. We estimate that Penny was born on 11/22/2013, she weighs 14 lbs, she is in great health and doing fantastic! HSNY is looking for a loving home that can provide Penny with security, stability, a reliable schedule. Penny loves everyone! She is wonderful with other dogs and people. Penny is an expert cuddler!!
We really appreciate your wanting to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We offer FREE Vet care for the first 3 weeks after adoption. We also have a great adoption matchmaker who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. Please feel free to submit your application!
