My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This must be the year of orange kitties! Tarzan is another wonderful boy, almost 2 years old, who likes other cats, dogs, and all sorts of people. He is a little bit shy in new situations, but he warms up very quickly and loves to play. He was adopted from us as a kitten, but returned this year due to litterbox issues. We have treated him for a possible urinary tract infection, and have learned that there were some stray cats around his former home that sometimes went inside - either of these reasons could be enough to have caused litterbox troubles. Since rejoining our happy family at Forget Me Not, he's doing fine and using the litterbox like a champ. I wish we knew for sure what caused his difficulty before - to be safe, we'd recommend keeping him as an indoor only cat unless there are no roaming cats in your area that might make him feel insecure about his place, and if you do have roaming cats around, keep the blinds drawn so he doesn't see them and feel any need to defend his perceived territory. The funny thing is, he is fine with his two roommates at the shelter, Pimento and Molson, even though he just met them! Cats are weird. When in doubt, watch My Cat From Hell. Cats are definitely weird.

Tarzan says he isn't really all THAT weird, and he has some stories he could tell about his roomies if he were that kind of cat... but he is above all that, and just wants you to invite him home. He's not currently much of a lap cat, though that could change as he matures a bit more, but he is a fun and talkative companion who loves to play. If you've been looking for a dog friendly cat with a fabulous purrrrsonality, Tarzan is a great choice!

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Tarzan is suggested minimum $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
