Facts about Snacks

  • Breed: Chow Chow
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Snacks loves his people and gets along fine with other dogs and cats.
Snacks is a senior and does have severe arthritis. Because of that, he will need daily medicine for life, no young kids who might hurt him, and no rambunctious doggies around who might try to jump on him. The arthritis has caused his back legs to be very weak and sometimes he falls down and needs help getting back up.
Snacks does not like the crate and he gets very nervous in it. Luckily, he does not chew anything so he does not need one. However being an older gentleman, he occasionally has accidents even though he knows to potty outside, he just can't always hold it. Snacks does love going on walks but his favorite thing to do is lay in the cool grass so he would love a fenced yard!
Snacks is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and current on flea/tick/heartworm preventative.

All SAAP dogs and puppies are vet checked, UTD on vaccines, spayed/neutered, micro chipped, and given flea and heartworm preventatives as age appropriate.

About Stray Animal Adoption Program

About Our Rescue Group...

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets.

We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are micro-chipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you?

We need your help to continue our mission. We rely solely on donations and fundraisers. All donations are tax-deductible and 100% of your donation will go towards the rescue, care, and medical needs of the animals.

If you need info on a cat or kitten please contact 859-391-2944

Our Adoption Process...

You are required to sign a legally binding contact on your new pet. As part of that contract, should you no longer be able to keep the animal for any reason, the animal MUST be surrendered back to SAAP. This is to ensure the animal is placed back in foster care while we secure a new approved home for the animal. However, we always try to ensure that the initial placement is best for the pet and your family. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption.
