Missy's Story...
Missy is 1-2 yrs old. She was turned in by her owner after he sold her puppies. She gets along well with other dogs and is housebroken, Missy is super sweet, and definitely a great dog that deserves a better owner than she had. At the dog pound when told there was a turn in fee, his response was to take her home and put a bullet in her head- it would be cheaper. He was then told he would be charged with animal cruelty if he did that, so he paid the fee and left. Missy deserves a second chance!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Missy, a Hillsboro Labrador Retriever/American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Hillsboro, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Hillsboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hillsboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hillsboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hillsboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
