Hugo was found in a parking lot and never claimed by his owners, so he became a member of the Rescued Tails family. Hugo is a very friendly guy who absolutely loves playing with his toys. He knows a few commands and takes his treats very gently.
Hugo is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, so he is currently being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, he will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on his commands with his handlers.
Update from Hugo's handlers: Meet Hugo, the big, friendly dog. Hugo is a young dog that loves to play. He enjoys playing with, chasing and chewing on tennis balls. He also enjoys stuffed toys, but he will quickly destroy them. Hugo is housetrained and he lets you know when he needs to go to the bathroom by pacing and sitting at the door. He's a great dog with a great attitude, but would do best as an only dog. He wants to see everything. He's a leaner and loves attention. He is working on crate-training, and at night he often sleeps in his kennel on his own. Hugo is food-motivated with softer, yummy treats. He knows "sit" and "shake" and is working on his other commands. Overall, Hugo is a big, friendly dog. He is clumsy and happy, with a sad-looking face. He doesn't drool unless he is drinking water, then all bets are off. Be prepared to have a buddy by your side!
