Harvey is a beautiful cat who is named Harvey since it was right behind Harvey's on Decarie that he was rescued one frigid winter night. He was spotted running under a dumpster trying to find shelter from the brutal cold at the tender age of only five months. He had somehow found himself homeless and trying to survive right off Decarie Blvd. Who let a kitten in the midst of a cold snap that had dropped temperatures down to -35 Celsius? He was starving and freezing and the poor little fella most likely would not have made it, if it was not for his having been rescued that very night. He was so grateful that when he was brought inside & fed he jumped on his rescuer's lap and placed his two paws around her neck and hugged and kissed her, as if to say "thank-you". Harvey, as one can see from his photo, has eaten very well since then and had become a "big boy". He is a happy, playful and active cat who loves people and receiving lots of attention and caresses. He can be mischievous and "roughhouse" with other cats. In general, he gets along with other cats but, at times, will try to dominate and "bully" the odd one, though not often. Harvey is a playful character" who will give you hours of fun and enterrainment, along with much affection. He would be be great with children and was living with dogs for a while. He would be a wonderful addition for your family!

  • Our Adoption Process...

All new adoption homes are carefully screened to determine if they are suitable. There is an adoption fee that includes the sterilization, initial vaccination of every animal, testing for FIV and FeLV of all cats at the shelter, and a 21 days trial period. A contract is always signed between the ARN and the adopter for their protection. A follow-up by an ARN adoption coordinator is often done either by telephone or by visit, and we also offer help/cousel for the life of the cat.
