Hi Adopters,

My name is Tootsie. I am a female min-pin/ doxie mix. I am 4-5 years old. I was found as a stray and picked up by a shelter. Sadly, I was very pregnant at that time and had 4 babies that have found their forever homes.

I do like living with my foster family, they know what a sweetheart I am. How loving I can be, but I to find my forever home. A home that can devote the attention to me that I so greatly deserve. Let me tell you a little bit about my personality. I LOVE to go on car rides, I ride very well in the car. I just lay down and rest or look out the window at the other things just zooming by.

I love to go outside in the grass. I just roll in the grass and run in circles. For a chubby girl, I am pretty speedy! When I am out at adoption events and in the park, bigger dogs and a few my size make me uncomfortable so I can growl a bit and pretend like I am going to be mean.... But I don’t have a mean bone in my body.

Since my foster mom brings many dogs home to help them find new forever homes, I am used to other dogs and even cats. I make a fuss at first, but once I realize they are friendly, I quickly lose interest and seek a lap to cuddle on. You just have to give me a little time to get there, because I love to cuddle. I love to give kisses.

I am crate trained when my foster mom goes out of the house, although I don’t like it. When she says "crate time" and the other dogs go running to be put in their crate, I run to the bedroom and try to disguise myself among the pillows and blankets so she cant see me. She always does though. I behave in my crate, but I will whine and cry to get out if I know you are home. I just want to be with my people!

I have been around kids and as long as they are gentle with me... I like them too.

I am doggie door trained, although you will probably have to work with me a little bit at first if you have one so I know where it is. If you don’t have a doggie door, that is fine, but you will have to work with me to learn my signals that I need to go outside.

I know I sound like the perfect dog... right? Well.... I am... almost. I do have two small imperfections. 1.) I don’t like other dogs around my food or chew toys. I get a little growly when they come near. But this is easily resolved by feeding me in my crate (another use for this wonderful tool). When I am finished, take the food bowl up and recycle the kibble or throw it away.

Well, that is me in a nutshell. While I absolutely love my foster, I am hoping one day to find a family that will love me for the rest of my time on earth. And I still have SO many years ahead of me because I am a young girl still. I am fixed, up to date on my shots, and already microchipped. So I am ready to go home with you immediately. Wont you consider adopting me? Will you end my search for that perfect forever family? Will you let me show you that I can redefine the term unconditional love with my affections toward you? I have been waiting so long and patiently.

Love, Tootsie :)

About S.A.V.E. Rescue Coalition - TX Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

S.A.V.E. Rescue Coalition works to promote adoption through new adoption events, more public exposure of pets for adoption, and help the public make a good match with an adoptable animal.
Rescue groups work very hard to save animals every day, often using their own money, sacrificing time with family etc. We have animals from shelters and the streets of Houston that are now adoptable pets and we area helping these animals find permanent, loving homes.
We are all volunteer and no funds are spent for salaries, benefits etc. All money goes directly to the rescue group or their animals.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please vist our website or Facebook page for a list of coming events.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption fee range from $150-200 for dogs and $75-100 for cats and each animal is altered, microchipped and current on all vaccinations. You will be required to complete an application for your selected pet. You can do so at Processing may take up to 3 days. The application will include previous pet experience and vet info, how you will house your new pet and a little about your lifestyle so that we can be sure your pet will mesh with your family's activity level. We want you to have a permanent family member so we will take great care to assure that you find a suitable companion.
