My name is Toby. I'm distinctively handsome with brown accents on my soft, shiny black coat. I'm 15 months young, neutered, had my shots, micro chipped, and at 64 lbs, I'm full-grown, strong & sleek. I'm a mix of Shepherd & "Feist Hound" so I can tree a squirrel and out-run/out-maneuver any of my dog playmates. I need a 6 foot fence 'cause I can jump really high! I play well with other dogs - large & small. My early puppy days weren't so good, but my new life is great and getting better. I know I need to work on learning not to be afraid of strangers, so I'm excited that my foster mom & dad enrolled me for lessons with Jason, a well-known dog trainer to help me become more polite and confident. After I graduate, my adopter can take me back to any of Jason's classes for free, forever! Although I am still shy around strangers, after a few days, if you are patient, I'll decide you are okay and turn into the most loyal and affectionate pet you'll ever know! My foster mom & dad earned my trust in just one week. I'm fully housetrained. I can fetch balls and frisbees until you wear out! I like sleeping in my big crate at night and I'm okay staying in it for several hours when my foster mom and dad run errands. I love to ride in cars where I behave myself well. Something in my genes tells me to chase cats - must be my hunting-dog roots. Little kids scare me because they move so fast and are unpredictable, so I need a home with just adults or teenagers, at least until I learn not to fear little people.

I want a forever home. I'll be your best friend ever - just need a chance to show you. Please apply for me at
Love, Toby

About S.A.V.E. Rescue Coalition - TX Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

S.A.V.E. Rescue Coalition works to promote adoption through new adoption events, more public exposure of pets for adoption, and help the public make a good match with an adoptable animal.
Rescue groups work very hard to save animals every day, often using their own money, sacrificing time with family etc. We have animals from shelters and the streets of Houston that are now adoptable pets and we area helping these animals find permanent, loving homes.
We are all volunteer and no funds are spent for salaries, benefits etc. All money goes directly to the rescue group or their animals.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please vist our website or Facebook page for a list of coming events.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption fee range from $150-250 for dogs and $90-125 for cats and each animal is altered, microchipped and current on all vaccinations. You will be required to complete an application for your selected pet. You can do so at Processing may take up to 3 days. The application will include previous pet experience and vet info, how you will house your new pet and a little about your lifestyle so that we can be sure your pet will mesh with your family's activity level. We want you to have a permanent family member so we will take great care to assure that you find a suitable companion.
