Lily Rose came to Big Dog Ranc in Feb. 2014 at just 4lbs. She was surrendered with tw previously broken front legs, one had a plate in it that was too large and was bulging out of her leg, the other leg was surgically repaired, but would not heal as the pins would not stay in. Both legs had one inch gaps in the bone and the bone would not grow. Dr. Latimer our wonderful friend and supporter, had to remove the bulging plate. He put splints on both legs and she went weekly for bandage changes until Dr. Latimer could locate and receive a membrane that would help her bones grow. He traveled tirelessly trying to obtain the product. After nearly 6 months of searching the membrane was obtained for Lily Rose. Lily was scheduled for surgery and Dr. Latimer did what he does best. After many more months of bandage changes, we finally had bone growth. Eventually the bandage was removed from one leg and surgery was scheduled yet again to insert the membrane product to her foot in the other leg. All of her little toes were crushed. Eventually the bone grew in her foot and her cast was removed. Lily finaly had working legs again, they are not perfect, but to us she is a picture of perfection and dedication by our voluntees and amazing foster. Lilly is a sweet 6lb chiweenie girl who loves everyone she meets. She can however be a little moody, but isn't that part of being girl (girl typing). She loves to crawl up in your lap for a nap, but doesn't love when it is time to be put down. After all she has been through, who can blame her. Lilly would be happy in a quiet home where she is the center of attention.
