Facts about CHUY
Breed: German Shepherd Dog/Shar Pei Mix
Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
I am already neutered.
Chuy is a super affectionate guy who absolutely loves belly rubs and giving hugs! Chuy did excellent going on several overnight field trips with his favorite PAWS volunteer family, the Hudons, who enthusiastically reported to us that Chuy is a huge snuggle bug that did excellent with everyone in the house, including their two adolescent girls. They also mentioned that Chuy got along wonderfully with their own three dogs!
Here at PAWS, Chuy is known for getting along with pretty much any dog he meets! He also did excellently on his cat test! Unfortunately, Chuy doesn't always get the chance to show off his truly loving nature when he's worried sick about the lack of privacy he has in the kennels. As with many behaviors the kennel environment can create, Chuy has exhibited some barrier frustration and minor aggression which we do believe will dissipate and resolve once he gets into a home environment. However, because of his barrier aggression, we do feel that Chuy would do best with a dog savvy family, or one who is willing utilize the free, in-home training sessions that his adoption comes, so as to help him readjust to the normalcy of everyday life.
With a little bit of patience, training, and lots of cuddling, this sweet boy will make someone a wonderful companion!
