It takes a little time for Timber to warm up to new people. He'll be gruff on the first date, maybe even the second and third too. People do shy away from him because of his initial reaction to them upon first meeting them. He can be a little intimidating! If you're persistent, you can wear him down and you could end up getting one or both of his kisses. One kiss is the gentle I love you kiss with lap of his tongue. The other is a little, let's keep playing nibble. Likes: He loves to get his back, hips and belly rubbed. He's great at bath time but be warned if his head gets wet he'll shake his body. So wash his head first then body, or else you'll be soaked. Dislikes: Sharing his bed, getting hugs, vaccines, nail trims and being outside for any reason other than to do his business! Timber was adopted from Second Chance as a young puppy and then returned back to us 5 years later because his owner was moving. Timber was very sad for awhile howling and wondering where his owner was. Timber is definitely a special boy who will also require a very special home. No small children recommended for Timber. Timber is potty trained, great on a leash, knows sit, shake and is good with some other dogs. Patience is definitely a must when it comes to Timber. We will never give up hope that the right home is out there for him somewhere. Timber is only looking for a FOREVER home though with somebody who will love him no matter what and who will never leave or abandon him ever again.

About Second Chance Animal Sanctuary

About Our Rescue Group...

For 25 years Second Chance Animal Sanctuary has been working to help homeless dogs and cats find their way into safe, permanent and loving homes. We promote animal welfare by providing rescue, proper veterinary care, and adoption for abandoned animals in Oklahoma.

Every animal has a story and many of those stories are heart-breaking, but in every case there is a common theme: an animal that deserves a second chance at life.

EACH ADOPTION SAVES TWO LIVES...AND ENRICHES ANOTHER!

When you adopt, not only do you save the life of one animal, but it frees up critical space so that we can rescue a second pet. And of course, the life that is enriched...is yours.

Our hours of operation are: Wed - Fri 12-6pm, Sat 10am-5pm and Sun 12-5pm. We are closed Mon & Tues.

Phone: (405) 321-1915

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee is $125. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and kept on monthly flea/tick/ heartworm prevention. Dogs have been heartworm and tick disease tested and cats are fiv/fel leuk negative. We do require an adoption survey and signed contract for any adoption.
