Silver/black tabby, short hair, female, born approx. 5/1/10, #9483

Sophie was first found in a box at an east county school with a note pleading for someone to take care of their kitty because they couldn’t afford her care. Though adopted, she lost that home when her guardians were expecting a baby.

Gorgeous Sophie is a very sweet kitty who wants lots of attention and love. She likes to get pets and be part of what is happening in the household—though, being a cat, she likes it all to be on her terms! Sophie especially seems to favor chin scratches and head pets for a short intervals; she’ll often rub her head against you, though will tell you with a little nip when she’s had enough. She’ll be there to greet people at the door and follow them around, and she’ll bring "gifts" of her toys to you and sit close to them in invitation to play; there’s a particular fondness for soft little toys she can pick up and interactive feather toys. Sophie is friendly with both her known family and visitors, and enjoys sitting on top of her tall cat tree to observe the goings-on of her home. She does best with people who are experienced in reading cat body language, relaxing when she knows they’re picking up on her preferences.

Sophie needs to be the only cat in an adult-only household. Small and medium dogs don’t seem to bother her passing by, though she does not have experience living with them.

Sophie has been winning the hearts of everyone who meets her. Will you let her win your heart and in return show her that this time it’s forever?
