Mary Ann had made her way to a local shelter where she was charming everyone but had not yet found a home. When The Rescue House had an opportunity to take in some cats from the shelter, they asked us to please help Mary Ann.

Mary Ann is a confident kitty who greets every human who comes through the door. For those who are in the home to stay, she will hang out nearby—Mary Ann is content to sit next to you for hours while you work on the computer or watch TV. The occasional pet is nice, though she can get overstimulated by too many pets in a row and may give a bit of a nip; Mary Ann loves attention, just on her terms. She prefers to keep her paws under her own control, though will tolerate being picked up for a few seconds here and there. At sunrise and around 9:00pm, Mary Ann indulges her urge to run laps around the living room. Playtime is fun, too—she’s still a young kitty who enjoys a variety of toys and dangly wands.

Mary Ann has tolerated living with other cats, though they all actively ignored each other to make it work; she can be a bit on the bossy side, so would not do well with cats who would be intimidated by her. Of course, she’d love to be your only kitty. She has not seemed very fond of dogs. Young children would not be a good fit, though older ones who know to respect her wishes should be okay.

Mary Ann knows her own mind, and she’s looking for a person who will appreciate her combination of independence and companionship. Will she find her home with you?

About THE RESCUE HOUSE

About Our Rescue Group...

The Rescue House is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to assisting cats through its rescue, foster and adoption activities. We find loving homes for unwanted, abandoned, homeless and abused cats. We open our arms to cats that need assistance, regardless of age and often regardless of handicap. We find good homes for every cat that we take in - we are a true no-kill cat rescue organization.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We at The Rescue House believe that we can contribute to the welfare of our furry friends by implementing an Adoption Program. Our Adoption Centers are located in retail pet stores whose philosophy agrees with The Rescue House's mission.
