Mistie is a very sweet girl. Unfortunately this part of her personality did not shine in her adopted home and she was returned to us as she did not like the other family cat and the home dynamics just did not suit her well. This petite lil beauty with the most gorgeous big bright green eyes, prefers a quiet home. We recommend no small children. It takes her a few days to settle in but with a little patience and giving her some space initially, she becomes very trusting with a gentle person. When introducing her to other low-energy/docile cats, a slow intro is required. At first she hisses. But after only a few days she will eat side by side peacefully. Mistie lovvvvvves being pet. And belly rubs - those she thinks are the greatest! In a short time she learned to trust her new foster mom completely and will come a'runnin to her for love and affection. This little lady has been misunderstood and hasn't found her forever place yet. If you are a kind and loving person who understands cats, Miss Mistie may just be the girl for you! She will make a wonderful companion to one lucky person or low-key family.
We have created a non-profit animal shelter dedicated to eliminating cruelty, abuse and the overpopulation of animals. The Humane Society is committed to creating the awareness of animal rights throughout the Romeoville community by providing numerous animal welfare programs, including pet adoptions, humane education and cruelty investigations. ALL animals available for adoption are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, fecal tested, fiv/felv tested (cats only), heartworm tested (dogs only) and microchipped. It is the policy of the Romeoville Humane Society to spay or neuter all animals in its care in an effort to reduce the homeless pet population.
