~ ADOPTION PENDING ~

You may meet and apply to adopt Marlene at our ADOPTION EVENT on SUNDAY, JULY 31st from 12 Noon – 3:00 at PETCO in NEWPORT BEACH. (Our event is held INSIDE of the PETCO store.) adoptpetmatch@gmail.com

Marlene is a female Shih Tzu approximately 3 years old. She has a pretty black and white soft, wavy coat that is non-shedding. Marlene is a compact little girl weighing 11 pounds full grown. She is very feminine, quiet and mellow. Marlene enjoys hanging out with her people and is never any trouble. She has a gentle, dainty nature and will do best in a calm, peaceful home where she can be a pampered princess. Marlene is a classy dog and has wonderful indoor manners. She is housebroken and likes to go for easy strolls through the neighborhood. She is well behaved in public and will most likely stay close to your side for comfort. Marlene also likes to be held and snuggled. She is a great lap dog and would love to have one or two people that she can bond closely with. Marlene never forces herself on you, but she is always there in case you feel like giving her some attention or perhaps a little treat. She perks right up when the treats come out and she is always first in line for snacks. Marlene rides quietly in the car and is happy to be included as long as you keep her safe and secure. She is a tender baby and wants to be protected by her owners. Marlene is good with other dogs but is not playful and doesn't need another dog in the home to feel secure. She is also gentle with children but not recommended for young children since she is on the small and delicate side. Marlene was rescued from a very high-volume/high-kill shelter where she was brought in stray. She has been vet checked and is healthy. Marlene is ready for her new forever loving home today!

Marlene’s adoption donation is $425 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). She has been SPAYED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is her collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of her records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.

Marlene is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteers, Lynda, Eric and Lisa and is ready for her forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

MARLENE, a Newport Beach Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Newport Beach, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Newport Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
