Hi! My name is Baby Girl and you know what? I have a special talent - I can dance! I stand on my back legs and pirouette when I'm excited like just before supper. And boy do I like my supper! I eat it real fast then try to help my best friend Finn eat his. I am such a sweet little girl - little is right, I'm only about 8 pounds. I am a Chihuahua but I'm not just any Chihuahua - I don't yap and I'm not bossy. It took my foster mom a couple of days to realize how cute I am because my best friend Finn overshadows me. That's okay, I don't need to be the main attraction. I get along great with other dogs and I'm not too interested in the cat. Mostly I like to play a little and I like to lay in the sun. Snuggling up to my foster mom is cool too.It took me a couple of weeks to train my foster mom to give me a tummy rub first thing in the morning. I won't get off the bed until I have my belly rub. I don't care if the other dogs are jumping around needing to go out - no belly rub, no getting up in the morning I am house trained and can use a doggy door. I am up to date on my vaccinations. Like all Lucky Dogs, I have been spayed and have a microchip. When I came to Lucky Dog my teeth were in bad shape but Lucky Dog took care of me and my teeth are clean. Finn is my very best friend and has been with me since I was a baby. Hey, I'm still Baby! My adoption fee is $250. If you would like to meet me and I hope Finn too, please fill out an application.
Lucky Dog Rescue came into existence after one individual started saving one dog at a time back in late March of 2004. It began as a Dalmatian rescue, originally named Phoenix Dalmatian Station.
After seeing so many nice, highly adoptable dogs sitting in concrete cells in the county shelters, being put to sleep when no one came to the rescue, it quickly evolved into an all breed commitment, and we began saving several other breeds and mixes too! We are now a growing group of dog lovers who help all breeds and are committed to giving dogs a second chance at finding a forever home.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our dogs can be seen at weekly adoption events throughout the valley or by appointment. Please visit http://www.luckydogrescue.org for the most current information.
Our current adoption fee for adults (> 8 months old) is $250 and for puppies (< 8 months old) the fee is $300. The Adoption fee for senior dogs (7+ years) is $200. These fees cover the vaccines, microchipping, neuter/spay surgery, county license, and vet check for the dog.
Before an adoption can take place we do require that all potential adopters fill out an application. Once the application has been approved a home visit may be conducted. All adopters must sign a contract in order to finalize the adoption. Go to http://www.luckydogrescue.org/adoption-center/dogs to find a dog and submit an application.
