Socks's Story...
Socks is an 11 month old female that was found as a stray dog and brought to Al-Van on 7-11-16. Socks is only 23.9 pounds and is full of life and love. Socks likes to be vocal about playing like most other puppies, and very easy to care for. Socks can use some help with housebreaking but it is very hard to teach her in a kennel environment. Socks is the type of dog that can go anywhere and be happy just to be near you. Socks has a lot of energy so even though she is a smaller girl she will still need an active household. If you think Socks is the right dog for you fill out an adoption application at www.al-van.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Socks, a South Haven Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in South Haven, or seeking a Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in South Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in South Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a South Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in South Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
