Little Iris has come a long way in her short time being with Peace4Paws. Now 6 months old, this adorable shepherd mix has come out of her shell and proven to be the perfect little pup. She is a playful puppy who loves attention and being around people. She wants to be a part of everything you're doing! She makes for a perfect little family dog, gets along great with everyone, including children! She isn't scared of things like she used to be; her time in her foster home has helped socialize her into a more confident, fun loving, social dog! She has made herself right at home with her foster family, even tagging along on the family vacations! She's the perfect travel companion since she loves going on adventures and trying new things. Some of her favorite things are belly rubs, car rides, treats (she'll do anything for a treat!), hikes, playing with toys, and chewing on bones. One of Iris' favorite games, in fact, is hide and seek! She loves playing this with her foster family. This silly girl will go hide under the bed and crawl all the way in the back so you can't reach her! Then if you pretend to leave the room, she'll come running out. She's turned this into quite the game and she is such a character while doing it! She has loved the car from a young age, which is awesome and makes it super easy to take her along with you! She is proving to be a quick learner so far. She has been taken to a couple of training classes to help learn her manners and she's improved wonderfully. Before she was not the best walker on a leash, but after a couple of classes she now walks on the leash with ease! She has also started to learn sit. Unfortunately, house training is still a work in progress, but we are confident she'll pick up on it quickly once the best method to train her on is figured out! Iris is also dog friendly and just an overall amazing dog. She is up to date to on all her shots and has a clean bill of health! Consider bringing this adorable little girl into your family today and fill out an adoption application!

About Peace4Paws Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
