Calvin is such a happy, loving, little light brown Pit Bull with Moss Green eyes that had not seen the best this world has to give until now with Pit Crew Sacramento. His Mom (Daisy) was chained up in the heat, unable to reach her puppies in a crate (his sisters and brothers, also survived yet one puppy died). Animal Control had to seize Daisy, Calvin and the other pups before they to passed away. The good news is that he is just such a cute, healthier dog . Everyday is a new adventure for this cute as a button, active little guy. He's grown like a weed and spends his day playing with his Foster family dogs, Buddy and Bonnie {both dogs were also adopted from Pit Crew!}. He plays with all of his toys, but the squeaky ball and his Zebra are his favorites. He will play so much that he will just stop for a nap in the middle of play time. July 4th was so fun for little Calvin! He had fun having a bath, barking at bubbles and playing with toys, his new dog friends Bonnie and Buddy and then he slept through the fireworks! When not inside, he's in the big pool being held up by his big human friend and his paws are webbed! It should be no time before he dog paddles his way into your heart.

07/07/2016 Foster update, " New puppy Calvin went swimming on the 4th of July! A big step for a cute little puppy. He is a fearless little pup and even cuter than the pictures. He stole the hearts of neighbors and friends. He will be a lovely, little pup for someone...maybe someone named Hobbs! (like the cartoon) :)

07/22/2016 "Every day is a new adventure for this cute little carmel colored, green eyed puppy Pit Bull, Calvin! He loves all of his toys and can play with them and his foster pits Bonnie and Buddy all day. He has grown in just a week and he has found that he can now safely jump off the sofa seat on to Bonnie and even more doggie fun. Then that pesky sleepy time comes and he just can't help himself. He hasn't developed a snoring habit yet, but he must have wonderful dreams as he runs and barks in his sleep then wakes up and has more fun! Yesterday, he saw his first monarch butterfly up close. When it landed on a bush right in front of him, in the backyard he bowed and then barked and chased it as it flittered from plant to plant. He never caught the beautiful butterfly, but he enjoyed the moment anyway. Since Pit Crew saved him from a terrible box in the sun with no shade, he has bounced back to a happy, playful Pit Bull with lots of love to give. He needs a family that will share his adventurous spirit and sense of fun."

08/06/2016 Foster Update!
Our sweet Calvin has had another great week at his foster home. He is making great strides in potty training using either the backyard or his potty pads more and more frequently. He has even gone to the back door and waited patiently for it to open and allow him to go outside. What a smart boy he is! This week, he has spent quality time with his foster grandpa, falling asleep in his arms watching sports. He also spent hours playing with his foster dog Mom Bonnie/Kaylee. They ran up and down the hall going after balls and kongs of all sizes (although some of the balls were just as big as Calvin!). He also got his last vaccination on Monday and met up with some of his siblings and of course, charmed the socks off of plenty potential adopters at the Pet Food Express. Calvin also loves to talk. It is something like AWRRRRA, AHHRRAA. We have translated this to "I want to be picked up for a cuddle, please." As well as, "I really like it here, but I hope my forever family fills out an adoption application and I can go and live with them."

08/13/2016 Foster Update for our adorable Calvin!
Another week and Calvin has more new and fascinating adventures and has proven to be quite the smart little dog. He has learned to sit when asked and now he is learning to fetch a ball. It’s even his favorite new game along with tumbling and rolling with his foster dog Mom, Bonnie/Kaylee. He is even closer to being house trained! As long as his schedule is kept and a potty pad available, he is 75% there! Being the smart little pup, he will be there before you know it. He has been meeting so many “forever home” candidates we hope that he finds the right home soon. He is such a sweet, smart little dog. His beautiful green eyes, happy demeanor and loving look that he will make a great dog for the right family. All he wants is to give dog kisses and receive the same in return. He has come so far and survived such a bad circumstance, that he deserves the best family/pack. In the meantime, he’ll spend time with his foster family, learning new tricks and playing fetch with his ball.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Calvin, a Sacramento Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Sacramento, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Sacramento.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sacramento already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sacramento breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sacramento paves the way for another one to be saved.
