Sophie's Info...

I am already spayed, purebred, a special needs pet, and up to date with shots.

Sophie's Story...
Sophie is an older gal, probably 8-10 yrs old. She is super sweet and has no bad habits. Like most hounds, she loves to eat and nap. She loves belly rubs and any attention you can give her. She likes to walk, and would be a great walking companion. She's just a good old gal who needs a retirement home with a comfy couch. She has a chronic R. ear infection that is slowly improving, the ear needs to be cleaned and get meds each day. Otherwise, she's ready for her new home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a Charlottesville Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound for sale in Charlottesville, or seeking a Coonhound dog from a breeder in Charlottesville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charlottesville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charlottesville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound breeders who help with Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charlottesville paves the way for another one to be saved.
