Facts about Adele

  • Breed: American Shorthair
  • Color: Gray Or Blue (Mostly)
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Adele is such a pretty girl with the cutest gray spot on the very tip of her chin! She has the kind of face that makes it hard to control the natural urge you feel to kiss her non-stop. Adele has an innate sense of curiosity that gives her both the confidence to explore new surroundings and to greet new people comfortably with no fear.

Adele is a sweet, friendly gal who LOVES people – nothing makes her happier than spending time with her people and having them shower her with attention! Adele is not shy about asking for affection. Remember that confidence we mentioned earlier? Well, that confidence goes on full display when Adele is sitting on top of her kitty condo, you stop by to say hello, she places her paws on your chest and proceeds to climb onto your shoulder, which in turn gives you no other option but to cradle her in your arms as she snuggles close to you purring in contentment! Pick Adele up and she immediately ascends to the top of your shoulder, tickles you with her whiskers as she purrs directly into your ear, and continues on until she reaches your back where she can snuggle against you and survey her kingdom below simultaneously! Adele also adores conventional forms of snuggling – she loves being pet, enjoys being brushed, appreciates kisses, and delights in making herself at home in your lap! Your efforts to demonstrate your love for Adele are rewarded with very loud purring and meows of pleasure!

One could say that Adele likes playing with feather wands, however that would be an understatement...she LOVES playing with feather wands! It is fun to watch her run across the room after the feather, but what's downright hysterical is utilizing kitty condos to taunt her with the feather. In her pursuit of the feather, Adele is more than willing to jump/climb from level to level, from condo to condo, and even through kitty condo tunnels until she is victorious in her chase. I will warn you there is a great likelihood that your arm may tire from waving the wand around so much before she tires! Adele is also a fan of chasing balls down long hallways at warp speed and will sometimes talk to herself during the chase. Time spent playing with Adele lifts your spirits and makes you laugh out loud as her joy and enthusiasm are infectious!

When Adele is ready for some down time and her favorite person isn’t available to snuggle, she loves to climb to the very top perch of her cat condo where she can keep an eye on her kingdom in comfort! Another one of her favorite places to relax is a sunny spot near a window.

One of my favorite stories regarding Adele happened while she was staying at our Petco location. Adele was perched on top of the kitty condo that looked out into the store. I noticed that instead of relaxing comfortably, Adele was quite alert and seemed to be excited about something. Standing next to her and following her line of vision, I soon discovered the source of her excitement: on the other side of the glass, there sat a display case right next to the adoption center with a few unassuming mice running around, playing with one another, with absolutely no idea that they were helping Adele pass the time with their antics! It was pretty funny to watch. That’s the thing about Adele, there’s never a dull moment with this girl and she always finds a way to make you smile!

As much as Adele loves people (and mice!), she’s not as big a fan of her fellow felines. She can be in the presence of other kitties as long as they don’t initiate interaction; if they try to say hello, she’ll clearly let them know they should just keep on walking! Adele is an adorable, playful, affectionate, and endearing little girl. She would make a wonderful addition to just about any home as long as that home included plenty of love and plenty of feather wands! She is super excited for her new family to find her – don’t make her wait any longer!
