Gigi is probably a Chiweenie, dachshund and chihuahua mix. She is very outgoing and loves to play with the other dogs. She weighs about 12 pounds and is approximately 2 years old.
Addie looks more like a chihuahua but is probably mixed with something because she weighs 10 and a half pounds which is a little large for the breed.  She, too, is about 2 years old.  She is more reserved with other dogs and has not joined in with the play.  She much prefers being in somebody's lap.  She does play with her sister, though, and loves to play with stuffed toys (or socks).
As people who have chi's know, having two is actually easier than just having one.  Although Gigi would probably be okay without her sister, Addie would be devastated so they need to stay together.  They would fit right into a new home with 1 or 2 other little dogs.  I don't know if they've been around cats, but I can't see either one of them having a problem with cats.  They are doing very well on their house training and learning the new routine.
They wouldn't do well in a home with very small children.  Older children and teens who know how to act around small dogs would be fine.

About Tunica Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

The Tunica Humane Society desires to improve the quality of life for all animals in Tunica County by aggressively pursuing a high quality, low cost spay-neuter program. We are dedicated to saving the lives of all animals who are endangered, neglected, abandoned or abused. It is our hearts desire to see Tunica become a "NO KILL" model community in a world where over 5 million dogs and cats are destroyed every year simply because they are considered "disposable".
"Lassie, Cleo, Rin Tin Tin, and Toto don't show up in a rescue shelter. We don't get the elegantly coiffed, classically beautiful, completely trained, or perfectly behaved dog or cat. We get leftovers. Animals that other people have incompetently bred, inadequately socialized, ineffectively "trained" and badly treated. Most rescue dogs and cats have had it. They've been pushed from one lousy situation to another. They've lived a crate, or in the basement. They're scared, depressed, and anxious. Some are angry. Some are sick. Some have given up.

But the Tunica Humane Society will not give up. We will never give up on an animal. We know that they are living beings, with a spirit, a heart, and feelings. Our animals are not commodities, things, or garbage. They are part of sacred creation and they deserve as much love and care and respect as the next Westminister champion. So...please, please don't come to rescue a dog or cat in the hopes of getting a "bargain" or indeed of "getting" anything. Come to the shelter to give, to love, and to save a life and to mend your own spirit. For rescue will reward you in ways you never thought possible. We can promise you this...a rescue dog or cat will make you a better person." UNKNOWN

At the Tunica Humane Society, our goal is to do the best adoption possible...matching you with a pet that will become a lifelong member of your family. To ensure the best possible match between adopter and pet, we ask that you read and understand the information provided regarding our adoption policies and procedures. You will be asked to sign a legal contract when adopting your pet and you must pay an adoption fee/donation. The fees go directly to our rescue group to help us save more animals. Thank you for opening your heart and considering adopting a shelter dog. By making this commitment, you have not only found a friend for have saved a life. If at any time you cannot keep the dog, you MUST return it to the Tunica Humane Society and not to another individual or shelter.

Come Meet Our Pets...
