Dexter is a fun loving, sweet, happy boy. He loves other dogs and gets along fine with them, but does tend to want to be the Alfa and loves lots of attention ! He would be very happy in a home where he can be the only dog getting pampered. He does well with cats they
just don’t appreciate all the kisses he has to give. He likes to go for walks on leash, even though he is so big he has learned quickly not to pull. He hasn’t grasped the concept of fetch yet but he LOVES to play in any form or fashion and would do best in a household with plenty of activities. Dexter is completely housebroken and crate trained! He also does really well in a crate for short periods at a time when you have to be away.
Dexter would be ideal with a very active family. He would make a GREAT hiking buddy and does well on car rides or going into a store. He is very sweet and tolerant. He has so much love to give; he hasn’t met a person he hasn’t liked yet, including kids! He prefers a home where there is someone with him most times since he enjoys being with his people and will tend to cry when they are not around. He also requires a home with a large fenced in area so he has plenty of room to play. He has flourished to such a wonderful dog since leaving the kill shelter in Marshall County, we know he would love to become someone's new best friend!
