Lucy has a very special back story I need to share with you! 15 weeks ago, Lucy's mommy, Ivory, a boxer and her daddy, an American Bulldog were turned into the shelter by their owner. Both were in shocking conditions, severely under nourished, covered in fleas and ticks and very, very traumatized! As the shelter was overflowing they were moved right up the Euthanasia list because they were in such shocking condition. When a shelter employee came to collect sweet Ivory to put her to sleep, they discovered she had given birth to 3 little puppies in her stall! Everyone was shocked because these puppies were perfect and beautiful and momma was at deaths door! A plea for help was put out immediately and Friends of Rescue jumped to save Ivory and her puppies! They were immediately taken into a loving foster home and given a fighting chance! When the puppies weaned at 5 weeks, the decision was made to foster the puppies in new foster homes so Ivory could start gaining weight and get healthy, nursing 3 babies was taking all her strength and I'm so proud to have been one of the lucky fosters to get one of her special, life saving puppies!
Lucy has been so much fun to have around! She is very playful and energetic so we would love to see her in a home where being outdoors and active will play a large role! She is house trained and crate trained! She will come to you spayed, micro chipped, fully vetted and up to date on her shots! She loves nothing more than being outside to play and run around and playing tug-o-war. She adores other dogs, cats and humans of all sizes! If you are looking for the true puppy experience, Lucy is your gal!
