My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Pending. RILEY had some special circumstances to overcome before she could find her new home. Riley had to have a leg amputated due to an old, untreated wound. It was also discovered that she had heartworms. Her stitches are now out, her fur is growing back, and she will soon complete the treatment that will rid her of heartworms. We fully expect her to be a healthy, happy 3-legged dog who will make a very special pet for some lucky family. She has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She needs a new foster or forever home with a comfy dog bed since having only one front leg makes laying down more of a challenge for Riley. She cannot be put in a crate because she cannot turn around due to only having one front leg. She would do better kept in one room if she needed to be confined. She is good in the house and she is puppy pad trained. Riley is around 15 months old and weighs 54 pounds. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Riley if it means she will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit rescue to cover part of the cost of the veterinary care she has received.
