Tony's 3rd Memorial Transport!
.The HOOSIER TRANSPORT has arrived at Joyful Rescues, saving 18 precious lives! This run was sponsored by our volunteer, Jeanne D'Angelo and her friends, in memory of Jeanne's husband, Tony. Photos of the Hoosier dogs will be posted in a few days. Jeanne says, "This is the Hoosier Transport, aka Tony's Transport 3, in memory of my husband, Tony. Tony loved Indiana Basketball, aka "The Hoosiers", so this transport named in honor of one of his favorite teams. One year he convi nced me to buy tickets to 5 IU basketball games, which was great, except the games were in Indiana -- in January and February. Tony only made the trip to Joyful Rescues twice, but he loved, loved, loved it ! The first time was to adopt Vada, and he felt awful about leaving the other dogs behind, so I sponsor the Transport in his memory for something I know will make him happy in Heaven. Thank you to all my friends that helped me sponsor this Transport, I love you all ! Please spread the word about rescuing a dog that needs a forever home, you wont regret it ! Your new best friend forever just may be in the van on the way to Joyful Rescues." Thank you to Jeanne, and her friends, for such a loving act in Tony's memory!
Addison was born a bout July 1, 2011 and weighs about 15 lbs. He is cute as a button and just as sweet as any little dog here. Addison got his name because he was "added" on the last minute since there was one empty crate - lucky boy! We have found Addison to be like so many Chihuahua mixes as when he feels trapped he may get nippy, so no little kids. Please understand that we have no prior knowledge of this dog and we will be learning as we go and so will you He's been wonderful with all of us and the other dogs. We do want to mention that many of these tiny dogs struggle with house training throughout their lives and may benefit from having potty floor pads handy. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $250.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.
