Meet Jake, a 6-7 year old boy who came into rescue through a shelter so not much is known about his prior life.

Jake has on-going ear infections and requires a diligent owner. Jake will snuggle with you if you help him up as he can’t jump up on his own; good thing he weighs in at 50 pounds.

Jake would do best as an only dog as he does have severe food aggression with animals. He also requires owner(s) with a lot of patience as he does need to be muzzled when given his ear or oral medications and have his nails trimmed.

His foster home is crate training him however he will have accidents if left in his crate longer than 4 hours. He seems afraid of toddlers so perhaps older children, if any, are best. He does not do well with new dogs and cats are a no-no.

Do you have a special heart and home for this hound looking for love? If you think you may be the home for Jake, fill out one of Suncoast Basset Rescue applications HERE (or visit the link below) to schedule your meet & greet.
