My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Otis!
Otis is a little 6lb Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound mix looking for a patient, quiet, calm home. He is 1 yr old but still acts like a puppy. He loves to chase after his Chihuahua foster brother and loves to chew on his antler.

He gets along with other dogs and cats but does not like loud noises or to be approached too fast so he would do best in a home without young, loud or active children.

Otis does well in his crate once he settles in after about 5 mins of fussing. He would prefer to be out with his people or hiding under blankets if you let him, he also loves to snuggle under the covers when its bedtime. Who needs a hot water bottle or heating pad when you can have Otis under the covers with you!
Once you gain Otis’ trust he will follow you around wherever you go and is truly a lap dog smothering you with all the kisses you’ll allow him to or roll over for belly rubs.

Still working on house-training but Otis is getting better every day, we have almost eliminated accidents by going outside immediately after coming out of his crate and when out and about for extended periods of time repeating outside trips every few hours giving positive praise for “potty outside”.

Otis walks well on a leash but doesn’t like to go for long walks, he likes a few 10 min walks per day. When he is done walking he’ll definitely let you know.
He is very food motivated so learning basic commands are getting easier daily. His potential to learn is there and needs to continue in his new home.

Otis is a very sweet and super affectionate little guy looking for the right home to share all the love he has to give, he really deserves the best, won’t you give him a chance?

Otis’ adoption fee is $250 and he is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
