On a dark, dark night of the new moon, Crescent, 1 adult female, and 3 other pups were found on an old country road with no houses in sight. It was so dark, only the glow of their eyes in the headlights of the rescuer’s vehicle indicated they were there. They were beyond happy to see someone and approached their rescuers without hesitation. All were covered in thousands of ticks but tails wagging. They had likely never set foot inside a house, but have since adjusted very well and don’t hesitate to run inside from the Arkansas summer heat. They have very good behavior when crated and don’t like to make messes in the crate. They are still working on indoor manners, such as not stealing things from the counter and potty training. Having missed out on this at an earlier age, they are still a work of art in the making. All are super happy and love to play with each other.
You’ve not seen a wiggle body till you’ve seen Crescent! She is so happy to see her people, it’s not just her tail that wags, but her WHOLE body! Crescent is a lapdog in the making! While still unsure about how close to sit with her humans, she is usually the first to greet her audience. She is learning to thrive in a life of spoiling and love. She still jumps up on people when she’s excited but it’s briefly and she quickly minds her manners. She plays with all her heart and then winds down with ease. After having a good run in the back yard, she doesn’t hesitate to go take a nap in her crate. She looks into your face with her soul. Her dark eyes hide the things we’ll never know, but they still yearn for the love and comfort her future family will give her. She loves to have fun and would soooooo love to have some one-on-one play time with her family! She has been good with the cats of the foster home and shows respect to other, grumpier dogs very well. We think Crescent is about 8 - 9 months old, she weighs almost 40 pounds with just a tiny bit more to grow, and she's a very healthy girl. Her true mix is just a guess.
