Colby's Story...
Colby is a 1 year old male Alaskan Malamute, who just recently arrived at the rescue from another shelter. This gorgeous boy is a sweet mellow dog who walks nicely on leash and will quickly sit for a treat. Colby currently weighs about 55 pounds and our vet's target weight for him is 70 , so we are feeding him a high quality food and working on getting him up to a proper healthy weight. Colby appears to be non reactive to the other dogs and would be fine with another dog with slow proper introductions. If you are looking for a head turner then Colby is your boy (just imagine how stunning he will be once he has a proper home and the love he so deserves).

If you want to apply for Colby, please visit the rescue and fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Colby, a Meridian Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Alaskan Malamute for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
