Attention Tortie-lovers! Have we got the girl for you! Beautiful MacKenzie is a Maine Coon mix who came into rescue with her three tiny kittens. At just one year old, she is really still a baby herself. She has been the best mama ever to her kittens, always playing with them and protecting them. Now that her babies are getting ready to fly the coop, she is ready to be an empty-nester in a home of her very own.
MacKenzie is a shy girl, but will come to her foster family for pets when she is feeling brave. She is a smart cookie, too, and will even come when her name is called. She will allow a few pets, then lean away, then decide it felt pretty good and lean in for some more. With a little patience, MacKenzie will blossom into an affectionate young lady. MacKenzie’s foster family is working to get her used to fun, interactive toys so that she will enjoy playing with her humans just as much as she does playing with her kittens. She is a bit skittish still, and may hiss and daintily swat if something startles her. Alas, what would a tortie girl be without a little tortitude?
MacKenzie gets along with other cats, but isn’t too sure about having a canine companion just yet.
MacKenzie will be spayed soon, is up-to-date on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for FeLV/FIV. She’s a very tidy girl and always uses her litterbox.
