SIMON's Story...
An adoption application on SIMON can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h
Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.

SIMON is as good as it gets! In addition to being stunningly handsome, this 1 year - 18 month old boy is a truly sweet soul. He gets along wonderfully with every single dog he meets. He has a low key personality and doesn't feel any need to be "the boss." His foster mom says he is perfect in his crate while she is at work and doesn't have accidents in the house. His foster mommy has a fenced back yard, however SIMON is such a mellow guy we feel he would be just fine in a condo or townhouse as long as his owner is committed to regular walks and trips to the doggy park. SIMON knows not to chew on things that don't belong to him and rides in the car like a perfect gentleman. He is a good match for both a traveler and a home body. His calm demeanor make him a great candidate for a traveling partner, However, he is perfectly content lounging around the house and watching movies. His forever family is hitting the jackpot with this gentle spirit!

SIMON is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
His $450 adoption fee includes interstate health certificate and transport to the Midwest.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SIMON, a Schaumburg Boxer/American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/American Bulldog for sale in Schaumburg, or seeking a Boxer/American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Schaumburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Schaumburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Schaumburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/American Bulldog breeders who help with Boxer/American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Schaumburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
